Habinteg welcomes the Government’s housing standards consultation and believes it represents an important opportunity to ensure all new housing stock is built to an optimal accessible standard, to meet the needs of our population both now and in the future.
Habinteg is currently assessing the content of the housing standards review to develop an informed response, working towards a goal of housing standards that are able to deliver the homes that our nation needs.
Excellent standards of accessibility should form part of any robust national housing plan, and they should deliver better homes for all. Without firmly applied guidance and regulation, accessible homes will continue to be a rarity rather than the norm.
Adam Thomas will be attending the Habinteg Forum on 17 September at ETC, Avonmouth House in South London and looks forward to joining the debate.
