Copper Touches A Key Trend This Year
A featured accent colour at the spring 2015 shows in Europe, copper is hot in interior design this year.
As display kitchens such as this Rational Topaz Schwartz Supermatt XL kitchen (below) shows, manufacturers were playing to this trend with Dolomite-Repro copper-toned worktops, and copper coloured handles.
German manufacturer Rational has been established for over 50 years, and is part of the larger Snaidero group which includes furniture manufacturers across Europe. Rational uses this broader network of sister companies to push its design processes forward and keep looking for the next big thing.
If you like the copper look, but are not willing to commit 100%, consider opting for a plain white kitchen and adding copper accents. It would not be difficult to use copper door handles today, and have a spare set to use in five years’ time when you want to ring the changes. Major appliance brands such as Kitchen Aid have launched copper options in the last year, and lighting manufacturers have joined the fray with a wide range of choices available at most large department stores. The addition of traditional copper saucepans would be perfect in a traditional kitchen.
