Lifetime Homes - Catch the Vision

The concept of Lifetime Homes was developed in the early 1990s by a group of housing experts, including Habinteg Housing Association and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. The group was formed to champion the growing demand for choice, flexibility and independence among disabled people of all ages, as well as promoting high quality and thoughtful housing design for the general population. Disabled Living Foundation

Established for fourty years, the DLF is a national charity based in west London that provides impartial advice, information and training on daily living aids. Our expert designer Adam Thomas leads training courses at the DLF on the Basic Principles of Accessible Design. These courses are aimed specifically at Occupational Therapists and Environmental Health Officers and include solutions to real life challenges for those with responsibility for kitchen adaptations. Q Well Being - Luxury Accessible Holiday Homes

When a family affected by disability or mobility difficulties associated with old age wants to buy a home abroad the choices are limited. The Q Well Being project aims to deliver luxury all-inclusive accessible holiday apartments designed specifically for disabled and older people. Designed by an expert panel comprising Dame Tanni-Grey Thompson DBE, David Bonnett RIBA, FRSA and Adam Thomas of Design Matters this prestigious development is due to be completed in 2012.
