The brief for this project was to provide a custom-built kitchen with plenty of style, and with as much accessible storage as possible. Since this kitchen was for the use of our client and also for visiting friends and family, two rise and fall mechanisms have been incorporated to provide maximum flexibility.

Our client selected an Access Matters shaker beech kitchen with stainless steel inset panels on wall units and reflective stainless steel plinth at floor level. A feature was made of the hob area with a freestanding stainless steel extractor hood, and silver and white tiled splashback. The wet area has been created to our exact specifications in Corian. It is fitted with a motorised rise and fall mechanism, with safety cut out feature that immobilises the unit the moment it encounters an obstacle. A diagonal rise and fall mechanism has also been fitted to a pair of wall units, to bring the cupboard down and diagonally forward to the front edge of the worksurface beneath. This stylish, up-to-the-minute design is packed with special features – see this kitchen demonstrated in greater detail on the Access Matters web site at amtak.co.uk.
