The brief for this project was to provide two multi-occupational kitchens for the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, The kitchens needed to be flexible, fully accessible, and made of durable materials.
Our designer selected a hardwearing high pressure laminate door from the Access Matters range. The combined sink and hob area was specified in Corian with waterfall edges on all four sides, with a rise and fall mechanism for flexibility, and fascia-mounted controls for easy access. A fixed-height worktop with increased depth accommodates a microwave on the other side of the kitchen, and a wide variety of storage options have been incorporated to improve access. This spacious, attractive and durable design demonstrates that increased independence is possible with a custom-designed kitchen. This kitchen is featured further on the Access Matters web site: amtak.co.uk.
