Design Matters was formed in 1992 by owner and Managing Director Richard Smithies, after nearly 20 years experience in high-end kitchen retail in London and nearby Beaconsfield. Today the company has grown substantially, and our showroom and administrative office are based in the village of Flackwell Heath in South Bucks.

We design kitchens for private clients and developers across the Home Counties. We also run a highly specialized kitchen design service for elderly and disabled people, which we call our ‘Accessible’ kitchen service. This range of interests keeps us busy, and engaged with the very latest products.

Unlike our competitors, we do not limit our clients to a single furniture manufacturer. Our stunning showroom provides a full range of kitchen concepts and designs, from traditional to cutting-edge contemporary. Working with quality materials and state-of-the-art CAD software our established design team works to provide imaginative and practical layouts for your kitchen. No two customers are the same, therefore we provide a genuinely bespoke solution to each design brief.
