Design Matters was formed in 1992 by owner and Managing Director Richard Smithies, after 20 years experience in high-end kitchen retail in London and nearby Beaconsfield. Today the company has grown substantially, and we provide kitchens for private clients and developers across London and the Home Counties. We have an excellent and well-established reputation for quality, value and timely delivery.

We are not affiliated to a single manufacturer, therefore we work directly for our clients, offering a wide range of kitchen styles and cutting-edge appliances. Our beautifully appointed showroom based in the village of Flackwell Heath in South Bucks shows a range of kitchen concepts and designs, from traditional hand made English kitchens to contemporary European brands.

Working with quality materials and state-of-the-art CAD software our established design team develops innovative kitchen designs, illustrated with stunning colour perspectives to bring your project alive. No two developments are the same, therefore we provide a genuinely bespoke solution to each design brief.

We are fully Health and Safety compliant, and supply our clients with all the necessary documentation for each job. Our installation teams are accustomed to site work and participation in site inductions,  and carry full Health and Safety equipment.
