Worktops
Granite vs Quartz
Granite is the classic choice for beautiful hardwearing worktops, however engineered quartz stone by manufacturers such as Caesarstone and Silestone is becoming increasingly popular. Containing over 93% natural quartz, a by-product of the worldwide mining industry, quartz worksurfaces offer an even greater range of colours and finishes to the discerning client. Granite and engineered quartz are very hard materials and therefore fairly heat and stain resistant, and both will add value to your new kitchen.
What is Corian?
Corian is an innovative solid surface product, developed by DuPont. An advanced blend of pure acrylic polymer and aluminium trihydrate, Corian is a versatile and resilient product that is non-toxic, hygienic and non-porous. Traditionally available in a wide range of plain colours and patterns suitable for kitchen worktops and walls, Corian has recently launched a new range of materials that contain up to 25% recycled material. Corian worktops are bonded together on site, so that there are no visible joints, and with a little simple maintenance it will keep its good looks for a very long time.
